Adopted Dogs  2015

"Donner" came to DunRoamin' on December 11, 2015 from Centreville where he had been tied for a large portion of each day. He had loose teeth and tartar issues which required the extraction of some teeth.   He also had skin issues which have been addressed and he had not been neutered. He is now!

Donner is a sweet little Chihuahua boy who was born about 2007.  He is very attentive and loves to be with people.  He was initially a little rough on cats, but gets along very well with other dogs.  He is a very loving little boy who likes to sleep on your lap or beside you on your bed at night.  He is good on a leash and will come when called no matter where he is!  He will jump from the floor into your arms when he sees the opportunity to be hugged.

On December 26, 2015, Donner met two young men from Fredericton who had fallen in love with him from his photo on this website.  When they all met in person, it solidified everything!  Donner is now a full-fledged family member and will also get to meet and spend time with ex-DunRoamin' strays Lucy, Nelson (ex-Boulder) and Finnigan (ex-Reddi).  Congratulations to everyone!  Merry Christmas!

"Tiny Tim" came to us on December 4, 2015 from the Tilley area where he had been found wandering on his own.  He was very thin (as you can see, his ribs were very prominent) and had an old injury to his left front leg that made it impossible for him to walk on it.  He also had an open wound on his leg that was infected and very swollen.  This must have been painful for him.  Tiny Tim was most likely born about May 1, 2011 and he appears to be a chocolate lab. He loves people, loves to play and loves to go for walks.  He's met many of the DunRoamin' cats and he loves them, too!  The kittens, in particular, return his affection!

On December 15, 2015, Tim underwent surgery to amputate his left front leg as it was not salvagable.  This went very well and he was anxious to have a new home for Christmas where he could spend time with family, go for walks in the snow and gaze at the Christmas lights.  He loves to be near people, and if there's a human who gives him attention, he'll stay right by their side!  He is very loving and energetic and wants nothing as much as he wants a family of his very own.  It's his best Christmas wish.

On December 20, 2015, he got his wish!  Tim was adopted by a family from Saint John where he'll live happily ever after!  Write often, Tim!  We'll miss you!  Merry Christmas!!

"Deifer" is a German Shepherd/Lab mix who was born about November 18, 2011.  He came to us on November 18, 2015, from the Grand Falls area where no one could care for him.  He is friendly, healthy but was not yet neutered.

Deifer is a very nice boy.  He is happy to have company, walks well on a leash, knows some basic commands and loves people.  He is very calm and pays close attention when spoken to.  He likes company when he eats and loves to sit very close - even better if he can put a paw across your leg and maybe even snuggle a bit.  He is a very nice boy who hopes for a home very soon.

On December 5, 2015, Deifer was adopted by a couple in Florenceville where he'll spend his first Christmas as part of the family.  Congratulations, Deifer!

"Keifer" is a Border Collie Lab mix who was born about March 18, 2015.  He came to us on November 18, 2015 from the Grand Falls area where no one was able to take him in.  He had not yet been neutered and needed his ears cleaned, but was otherwise in good health.

Kiefer knows to sit and lay down already.  He walks well on a leash and is impervious to cars, other dogs - nothing seems to phase him from our first impression of him.  He's definitely a very nice little puppy who is willing to learn and be part of a loving family.

On November 23, 2015, Keifer was adopted. Congratulations!

"Art" came to DunRoamin' on November 11, 2015 from the River de Chute area where no one wanted to care for him.  He is a Lab mixed-breed who was born about May 11, 2014.  He is loving, energetic and cute.

On November 20, 2015 he was adopted by a lady in Rosedale.  Congratulations, Art.

"Allison" originally came to DunRoamin' on September 16, 2010 from the Florenceville area and was returned on September 9, 2015 due to medical concerns that required more care than her family was able to provide.  She is a Boxer mix who was born about May 1, 2010.

Allison had injured the cranial cruciate ligament in her knees and had subsequently developed arthritis.  She underwent surgery on her right knee that has improved her comfort and function dramatically and the strict rest, laser therapy and controlled physiotherapy that she underwent have also done their job perfectly!  She has healed exceptionally well and she is back to playing, going for walks and being herself - an amazing little girl!

Allison loves cats and other dogs and is a very obedient little girl.  She is calm, quiet and loves to give kisses.  She loves going in the car, cuddling and sleeping on the bed with her human and cat friends.  She particularly enjoyed her vet tech friend who helped her through her recovery and is grateful for all she has done for her.

On November 19, 2015, Allison met a very nice lady from Upper Kingsclear and she now resides with her.  We're so glad that she has a permanent family.  Please keep in touch, Allison.  We'll miss you!

"Cassius" came to DunRoamin' on September 25, 2015 from the Woodstock area where he had been the victim of an assault by other dogs.  He sustained numerous bite wounds, mostly around his head and front legs.  He required much care and attention by his new vet and, fortunately healed very nicely.

Cassius is a standard poodle mix who was born about April 15, 2010.  He loves cats, kids, other dogs and going in the car.  He has moderate arthritis in his spine. He is very friendly and agreeable and happy to be among lots of caring humans.  He is a lovely dog who would appreciate a nice warm and caring home.  He is happy, playful, affectionate, loves other dogs and is just an all-round nice boy!  He can't wait to go to his permanent home!!

On October 20, 2015, he got his wish.  Cassius now lives in Ontario with his new family.  Congratulations, Cassius!

"Punkin" came to DunRoamin' on September 29, 2015 from the Woodstock area..  She was born about September 30, 2013 and is a Chihuahua.  She is now spayed.  Punkin is good with cats and other dogs and loves the car.  She is house trained and has a personality of her very own.

Punkin does not particularly care for younger children, so she should not go to a home with young kids.  Otherwise, she's a feisty, playful, adorable little girl who is anxiously awaiting a new family.

On October 12, 2015, Punkin was adopted into her new home in Elgin, NB.  Congratulations, Little One!  Please keep us up to date on your new life!

"Mischa" came to DunRoamin' on September 29, 2015 from the Woodstock area.  She had moderate tartar on her teeth and her fur was grey and matted.  She is an American Eskimo who was born about September 30, 2011.  Mischa was shaved and vaccinated and is eagerly awaited a new home.

Mischa is great with other dogs, cats, kids and loves the car.  She is energetic and likes lots of exercise.  She loves people and loves to sleep near (or on!) them.  She is scared of thunder but loves nature in general and is very happy to go for walks.

Mischa was fostered with our friends at Paw & Order in Keswick Ridge.  We can't say enough how much we appreciate all your help and support.  Thanks, Stephanie!

On October 10, 2015, we learned that Mischa would be the newest member of a family in Saint John.  Thank you so much for giving her a new home!  Please send lots of photos!!

"Smitty" came to DunRoamin' on August 25, 2015 from the Muniac area.  He had been seen lying on the side of the road for at least 24 hours before someone called for help for him.  He had sores on his hind quarters and his feet were injured and bloody.  He was thin and had flaking and scaling skin.

Smitty was very fearful and growled at his rescuers for the first day or so but quickly realized that he was safe and that no harm would come to him.  All his medical issues were addressed and he was neutered.

Smitty is a happy and playful little Rotti mix who was born about February, 2014.  He already knows how to sit and is attentive to his humans.  He loves to be patted and hugged and loves to sit on the floor with a human.  He comes easily with a tug on his leash, especially if there's a treat as a reward.  He is 80 pounds of love and affection - a blank slate waiting to learn all about love and friendship.  He's already well on his way to filling that slate!  Because of his size and outgoing, boisterous personality, he'd prefer a family with older kids.

On October 6, 2015, Smitty was adopted by a couple in Upper Kintore where he'll live the life he deserves.  Congratulations, Smitty!  Please send us photos of you and your family.  We'll miss our evening walks with you!

"Stryker" came to DunRoamin' on September 18, 2015 from the Rosedale area where he had lived on a farm.  Unfortunately, his one bad habit was that he liked to kill chickens, which the family could not allow.

Stryker was born about November 15, 2014 and is a Husky mix.  He is active, friendly and likes cats and kids.  He is currently fostered by friends of DunRoamin' while he awaits a home.  He is a very sweet little boy who was anxious for his very own family.

On September 26, 2015, Stryker met the gentleman with whom he'll spend the rest of his life.  Stryker now lives in Halifax, NS where he'll live the life of his dreams.  We'd like to thank Nick for adopting him and making him part of his family.  Congratulations, Stryker!!

"Cherry" became a ward of DunRoamin' on September 18, 2015.  She had been found wandering in the River de Chute area and no one had claimed her.  Cherry was in heat, had mild tartar on her teeth and had a "cherry eye" which required surgery.  She was also vaccinated and spayed.  Cherry was born  about March 15, 2010.  She is a beautiful black little Cocker Spaniel and although she was a little standoffish and uncertain at first, she has come a long way.  Cherry underwent surgery to repair her cherry eye and she was also spayed.  Both surguries went very well and she is well on her way to healing completely!

On September 26, 2015, Cherry, now renamed Cleo, was excited to become an official member of a family from Fredericton where she will be spoiled beyond words.  Congratulations, Cherry!  Don't forget to remind your mom to send us lots of pictures!

"Thatcher" came to us on May 13, 2015 from the Perth-Andover area where he was no longer wanted as he had bitten a dog who had been on his property.  Thatcher was born about November 15, 2012 and is a Lab/Shepherd mix.  He was initially timid but has come around very quickly.  He is energetic and loves people but would prefer to have a home with no small dogs or small children.

Thatcher knows basic commands such as sit and stay and he loves to go for walks.  He walks very well on a leash, except that he sometimes forgets and pulls when he gets to the end of his leash, but he's learning very quickly.  Thatcher's favourite thing, especially on hot days, is to chase the water from a garden hose and bite it as it comes near him!  He also loves to chase balls and toys and he'll bring them right back so you can throw them for him again!  He has a very cute way of lifting his lip so it looks like he's smiling!  He loves to play with other dogs his size and he is a very happy boy!  On September 20, 2015, Thatcher went to be fostered with our friends at Paw & Order in Keswick Ridge.

On September 25, he was adopted by a family from Fredericton where he'll have a canine sister as well as his very own humans.  He'd like to thank Stephanie, Elisha and all the staff at Paw & Order for the great time he had while visiting and for all their help in finding him a home.  Congratulations, Thatcher.  We'll miss you.  Please write often.

Meet "Cagney."  She and her sister, Lacey (see below), came from Somerville on September 8, 2015.  They had required more care than was being provided at their home so they came to us for help.  Cagney is black with white.  Lacey is brown, tan and white.

Both Cagney and Lacey were originally quite timid, but we saw a huge difference within hours of their arrival.  They received the best of love and care and adapted very well.  They were born about May 7, 2015 and are Shepherd mixed-breed puppies.  Cagney is the more outgoing of the two and will immediately come to get a hug.  They are adorable and willing to be your very best friend!    On September 18, they went to visit their friends at Paw & Order where they'll get some training and get to play with other puppies while they await a permanent home.

On September 19, 2015, Cagney was happy to learn that she was going to be the newest member of a family in Smithfield where she'll be loved beyond measure.  Congratulations, Cagney!  Please ask your mom to send us photos of you as you grow!  Thanks to Paw & Order for their huge part in making your new home possible!

Meet "Lacey."  She and her sister, Cagney (see above), came from Somerville on September 8, 2015.  They had required more care than was being provided at their home so they came to us for help.  Cagney is black with white.  Lacey is brown, tan and white.

Both Cagney and Lacey were originally quite timid, but we have seen a huge difference within hours of their arrival.  They have received the best of love and care and are adapting very well.  They were born about May 7, 2015 and are Shepherd mixed-breed puppies.  Lacey is more standoffish until she gets to know you, but then she'll climb in your lap!  They are adorable and willing to be your very best friend!  Since they love each other so much and have never been separated, we hope they can go to a home together.   On September 18, they went to visit their friends at Paw & Order where they'll get some training and get to play with other puppies while they await a permanent home.

On September 19, 2015, Lacey met a couple from Hanwell and they all hit it off.  Cagney has joined their family and couldn't be happier!   Please send us lots of photos so we can watch her grow into the amazing dog she has already started to become!  Thanks to our friends at Paw & Order for making this happen.  Your two- and four-legged friends are forever in your debt!

"Trish" returned to DunRoamin' on August 25, 2015 from Fredericton where she had been part of a family since November 2014.  She had been well loved and cared for by this family, but had begun to urinate and defecate inappropriately in their home and they could no longer deal with it.

Trish has a wonderful personality.  She loves dogs, cats, people, kids, cars, walks, treats - the only thing she doesn't seem to love is being crated.  She'd rather sleep on her bed near her family.  She knows basic commands and is very willing to please.  Trish was born about June, 2008.  She truly is a wonderful dog.

Trish was examined by our vet and found to be completely healthy.  She lived in our Reception area and spent her days with us and Samuel (our epileptic reception kitty) and she did very well.  Other than her very first day with us, she has not had an accident indoors.  Trish was fostered by a very nice couple in Greenfield where she had a wonderful time and . . .

. . . on September 18, 2015 Trish was happy to meet a young lady from Halifax who had previously fallen in love with her.  Trish will now live with her new family and will keep in touch with her foster family.  Congratulations, Trish!  Way to go!  Please write often and send us photos!  Thanks, Katie!

"Darth" was born to June on July 10, 2015.  His mom had given birth to seven more puppies and Darth is the only one with black colouring and no white markings.  He's a solid little monster!  He's happy to move with the crowd and loves to be on the bottom of the puppy pile.  He'll only get cuter as he grows!  He'd like to thank his foster parents for taking him, his mom and seven siblings in.

Darth will be ready to go to a permanent home as early as September 10, 2015.

On September 12, 2015, Darth got a permanent home!

"Chewey" was born, along with his seven siblings, to June on July 10, 2015.  He was the first puppy of the litter to start playing!  He loves to chew on his brothers' nose and he was chewing on the photographer's hand while they were trying to get this cute little photo!

Chewey's personality will emerge more and more as he gets older.  If he gets cuter, we're in real trouble!!  Chewey and his siblings will be ready to go to their permanent homes as early as September 10, 2015.  He's eager to meet that family who will make him their own.  He'd like to thank his foster mom and dad for all their love and care in his formative weeks.  It's been awesome!

On September 7, 2015, Chewey was adopted to a wonderful home in Riverview, where he'll get to stay with his brother Vader!  That's wonderful!  Thanks to your new family!  Please send lots of photos!

"Yoda" was the first puppy born to June (see above) on July 10, 2015.  He is very crafty and pretty laid back.  He leads the siblings in weight along with his brother Vader.  Yoda already has a home and will be ready to go on September 10, 2015.  Although he loves his mom and siblings, he can't wait to begin his life with his very own family!!

Yoda will be ready to go to his new home as early as September 10, 2015.

On September 7, 2015, Yoda got a new home.

"Vader" was born on July 10, 2015, along with seven siblings, to June (see above), who had come to us on June 12, 2015.  Vader is a real squirmer!  He hates sitting still and is always on the move!  He's the hardest to weigh - always moving around!

Vader will be ready to go to his new home as early as September 10, 2015.  He can't wait to meet his new family!

On September 7, 2015, Vader was adopted by a family in Riverview, NB.  And the best part is that his brother, Chewey, gets to go too!  Congratulations to all!  Please send lots of photos and updates to let us see what a wonderful life you will have!

"Leia" was born on July 10, 2015, along with seven siblings, to June, who had come to DunRoamin' on June 12, 2015.  Leia is the runt of the litter and the oldest of her sisters, but is by far the smallest.  When one of her brothers weighed 1000 grams, she only weighed 500 grams, but is doing great!  Leia looks to her siblings for comfort and they keep her warm and happy.  She is a beautiful little girl.

Leia and her siblings will be ready to go to new homes as early as September 10, 2015.

On September 7, 2015, Leia got a new home.

"Anakin" was born on July 10, 2015 to June (see above).  He is the youngest of his litter of eight and has a great attitude!  He found his voice early on and lets his foster parents hear it.  He is a solid little pup who is going to grow into a fine family member.  He'd like to thank his foster mother and father for taking such great care of him.

Anakin and his siblings will be ready to go to their permanent homes as early as September 10, 2015.  He can't wait!

On September 7, 2015, Anakin officially became a member of a very nice familiy in Fredericton.  Congratulations, everyone!  Please send photos as you grown, little one!

"Sola" was born to her mom, June (see above), on July 10, 2015.  She is a real sweetheart who loves to be held and snuggled.  She loves to fall asleep in her foster mother's hands.

Sola and her siblings will be ready to go to new homes as early as September 10, 2015 and they're anxiously awaiting that day!

On September 4, 2015, Sola's new family travelled from Hanwell to take her home.  She will live happily ever after with her own little boy!  Congratulations, Sola!  Please ask your family to send us lots of pictures of you as you grow.  We can't wait to see just how beautiful you become!

"Padme" was born on July 10, 2015 to her mom, June, along with seven siblings.  Padme is a very relaxed little girl.  When everyone else is nursing, you'll find her off in the corner snoozing.  She is most interested in her human foster parents right now - trying to figure out a way to say thanks for taking care of her and her siblings, no doubt.

Padme and her siblings will be ready to go to new homes as early as September 10, 2015.

On September 3, 2015 Padme went to her new home in Woodstock, NB.  Congratulations, little one!  Send us photos as you grow!

"Doug" came to DunRoamin' from Debec on July 29, 2015.  He had allegedly bitten someone and they did not want him around anymore, so he came to us. Doug was born about February 28, 2015 and appears to have some Staffordshire Terrier in him.

Doug is a typically rambunctious little puppy.  He is very energetic, curious, affectionate and playful.  He has shown absolutely no aggression at all - rather the opposite: he loves people, loves to play and is happy to do his best to please people.  He is already good at walking on a leash and, puppy that he is, he runs with a lanky, gangly gait that makes him look like he's all legs and awkwardness!  He is adorable and loving and whomever gets the honour of having him join their family will have the joy of a beautiful boy who will give his all to his new friends.  He is very smart and learns easily.

On August 26, 2015, Doug officially became a member of the family of a very nice young man in Fredericton.  Doug will be his hiking buddy.  Congratulations, Doug!  Write often!  Thanks, Zach!

"June" came to DunRoamin' on June 12, 2015 from near Hartland where she had been a pet but was no longer wanted.  She was relatively healthy, but very thin and very pregnant.  She was initially timid and uncertain, but with the love of her two foster parents, she quickly learned that she was safe and that she would have a great home while her puppies were growing.  June was born about September 15, 2014.

June is a beautiful little Terrier mix who looks like an entirely different dog after some well-needed grooming.  June gave birth to eight beautiful little puppies (three girls and five boys) on July 10, 2015, who were all named by their foster father after Star Wars characters:  Anakin, Chewey, Yoda, Darth, Leia, Padme, Sola, and Vader.  They're all doing fine, and you can see them below.

On August 26, 2015, June officially became a member of the family of a gentleman from Dartmouth, NS.  She can't wait to make the trip!  Congratulations, June!  Please send lots of photos!

Reddi with her mom and new friend Lucy, another ex-DunRoamin' stray.  Hi, Nelson!!

"Reddi" came to DunRoamin' from the Florenceville area on June 8, 2015 when she was seized by the SPCA.  She had three puppies with her (Fargo, Margo and Dargo) and her friend Petro, probably the father of the puppies, came also.  Her puppies were quickly adopted (see below).

Reddi was born about June 8, 2013 and was a typical mom - very good to and very protective of her puppies.  She is a 34-pound Terrier mixed breed.  Reddi had a broken tooth which was extracted when she was spayed.  She also had fleas and flea allergy dermatitis which have been treated.  She is an albino and is a very sweet little girl.  She loves people and is very happy to have human company.  Reddi gets along well with other dogs and cats and loves going in the car.

On August 3, 2015, we learned that Reddi will have the best possible home.  She will live in Miramichi with two other former DunRoamin' strays, Boulder, now known as Nelson (excellent piano player!) and Lucy, as well as several other very fortunate four-footed friends.  Congratulations to everyone!

"Danni" came to DunRoamin' on July 22, 2015 from near Perth-Andover.  She had had a run-in with a porcupine and had a large number of quills in her face, mouth, cheeks, legs and feet.  She was lean and healthy otherwise.  She was born about July 23, 2011.

Danni is a black Great Dane who is a very gentle little girl.  She gets along great with other dogs, cats and she loves kids.  She particularly likes going in the car and you couldn't ask for a nicer little girl.  Her quills have all been removed, she's been vaccinated and she's anxiously waiting to meet her new family.

On July 29, 2015, Danni was adopted by a loving family in Fredericton where she'll be a friend for Anna and Harrington, both former DunRoamin' strays.  Thanks, Carlene, for being a family for these oh-so-fortunate dogs and cat!  Please send photos!

"Roarke" came to DunRoamin' on July 10, 2015 from the Wilmot area.  She and her two puppies, Heaven and Hale, were relatively healthy, but Roarke was very, very skinny.  She put on four pounds in her first day with her new friends!

Roarke is most probably a Lab mix who was born about July, 2013.  She is quiet and slightly timid but very quickly gained confidence with her new friends.  She loves to go for walks and will stay close and walk large circles around you as you walk with her!  She loves experiencing the new smells of summer and she has gained a great deal of self-confidence in the time she has been with us.  She dreamed of a new home . . .

. . . and on July 20, 2015, that happened!  Roarke, now known as Rory, will live with her new family in Rothesay!  Congratulations, Roarke!  Please send us photos of you and your new best friends!

"Petro" came to DunRoamin' on June 8, 2015 from the Florenceville area when he was seized by the SPCA as no one was caring for him, his girlfriend and their three babies.  Petro was born about June, 2013.  He is a 40-pound Terrier mix who was unneutered when he arrived.  Petro had fleas and flea allergy dermatitis, both of which were quickly treated.  He also had a broken tooth.  Petro was scared, of course, but quickly learned that he was among friends who have nothing but his very best interests in mind.

Petro does not like to be in a kennel, but loves to be with people.  He will happily sleep at your feet if you have work to do at your computer and he loves watching TV with people.  He is very familiar and happy to be around cats and he loves to go in the car as well.  He particularly loves to go for walks, where he checks out each new sight and smell with joy!  He happily dances by jumping on his hind feet and spins in circles when he knows he's about to go for a walk or visit with friends.  He's a real sweetheart!

On July 18, 2015, Petro was excited to learn that his new family was driving all the way from Saint John to take him home.  He is one happy boy!  Congratulations, Petro.  We'll miss you.  Please write often and come visit if you're in the area!

"Heaven" came to us on July 11, 2015, along with her brother, Hale, and mom, Roarke.  They were surrendered to the SPCA as their owners could not adequately care for them.  Heaven was born about May 15, 2015.  Heaven was healthy, although her mom was very, very skinny.  Heaven was vaccinated, treated for parasites and will be spayed when old enough.  Heaven is a very loving little girl.

On July 18, 2015, Heaven was adopted by a family in Keswick Ridge where she'll be a new member of the family which includes two young boys to romp and play with.  Congratulations, Heaven!

"Hale" came to us on July 11, 2015 when he, his mom Roarke and sister Heaven were surrendered to the SPCA.  Hale and his sister were born about May 15, 2015.  Both puppies had no major health concerns, but their mom was very, very thin.  Hale was vaccinated, treated for parasites and will be neutered when he is old enough.  He's a sweet and playful little boy who loves people.

On July 13, 2015, Hale was adopted by a family in Moose Mountain.  Now he'll have the life he could only dream of.  Your dream came true, little one!  Congratulations!!

"Margo" came to DunRoamin' from the Florenceville area on June 8, 2015 when her mom, dad, sister and brother were seized by the NBSPCA to ensure they received the care they required.  Margo was born about May 13, 2015 and looks very much like her mom, Reddi, who is also albino.

Margo is an albino Terrier mix and her hair is shorter than her sister Fargo's.  Margo also had fleas which were immediately treated.  She's looking forward to having a permanent family as soon as she's able to leave her mom, which will be around the middle of July, 2015.

On July 7, 2015, Margo was adopted by a very nice lady from Saint John.  Congratulations, little one!  Please send us family photos and pictures as you grow!

"Dargo" came to DunRoamin' from the Florenceville area on June 8, 2015 when his mom, dad, and two sisters were seized by the NBSPCA to ensure they received the care they required.  Dargo is a Terrier mix who was born about May 13, 2015 and looks very much like his dad, Petro, while his sisters look like their mom.

Dargo had fleas which were immediately treated.  He will be neutered, vaccinated and is anxious to have a new family.  He'll be ready to go by the middle of July, 2015. In the meantime, his mom and siblings were fostered by the best people ever.  They'd all like to thank Lorna and Archie for the love, care, guidance and all the learning they got to do, but especially for the kindness, generosity and affection shown to them.  They are forever grateful.

On July 7, 2015, Dargo was adopted by a gentleman from Mount Delight, NB.  Please send us photos as you grow, Dargo.  Your foster family will miss you terribly!

"Sugarbell" is a Shih-Tzu who was born in 2000.  She was one of five dogs retired by a breeder from the Centreville area who was surrendered to DunRoamin' on December 4, 2014.  All were unkempt, dirty, reeked of urine, had overgrown toenails, dirty/hairy/inflamed ears, major dental disease and lice were found on them.

Sugarbell had severe periodontal disease which required extractions of her teeth.  She had bladder stones, at least two mammary tumours and had never been spayed.  She underwent surgery to remove the tumours and also had dental surgery, from both of which she recovered very well.

Sugarbell is displaying affection for any human who comes near her.  She eagerly awaits a pat on the head and a scratch of her ears.  She is happy in her foster home but her dream is for a permanent forever home where she'll have everything she's ever desired.  She is very grateful for the love and care she is receiving from her foster family.   She is so happy to learn of a place that is such a heaven for her!

On July 5, 2015, Sugarbell decided she'd like to stay permanently with her foster family and who could possibly refuse that face?  She's very comfortable and happy with her family and very grateful to be part of it.  She's where she was meant to be!

"Orion" came to DunRoamin' on February 5, 2015.  He is a pit bull mix who is about six years old.  He is a very nice boy who is happy and loves people.  He is neutered and vaccinated.  He does well with other dogs but would prefer a home that does not have aggressive or confrontational dogs.  He is a sweetheart!

Orion experiences some discomfort with his right front elbow and would like to have a permanent or foster home near his favourite vet as he may require some individual care.  He is currently undergoing laser treatment to help and he's doing well.  He is a very happy boy!

On July 3, 2015, Orion decided that he would like to stay permanently at his foster home where he will get the care and attention he desires.  Way to go, Orion!!

"Mello Jello" came to DunRoamin' on June 9, 2015 from Good Corner.  She was born about June 2008 and had mild tartar on her teeth and fleas, which were treated.  She had not yet been spayed.  She will be spayed, vaccinated and treated for all parasites.

Mello tolerates cats and other dogs and likes the one kid with whom we know she is familiar.  She has a history of biting people who are unfamiliar with her but other than mild fearful growling, we experienced no aggression from her.  As of June 11, she has shown herself to be a sweet little girl who seems to love everything and everyone.  On June 12, she went to a home to see if she'd like to be a permanent member.

On June 25, 2015, we learned that Mello will stay in this family permanently.  Thanks, Karen.  We know she'll have the best live ever now!  Please send us lots of photos and we'll post them here!

"Fargo" came to DunRoamin' from the Florenceville area on June 8, 2015 when her mom, dad, sister and brother were seized by the NBSPCA to ensure they received the care they required.  Fargo is a Terrier mix who was born about May 13, 2015 and she looks very much like her mom.  She is an albino like her mom and has longer hair.  She also had fleas which were immediately treated.

Fargo was nursing upon arrival but will be ready to go to a home by the middle of July.  She's very anxious to start that phase of her life!

On June 12, 2015, we learned that Fargo will be a part of a family in the Stickney area.  Although she will miss her mom and siblings, she is eagerly awaiting the day she is old enough to leave her mom and siblings to start her new life.

"Andrew" came to us on April 23, 2015 from California Settlement.  He is a Pomeranian who was born about April, 2009.  He is friendly, social and eager to please.  He is good on a leash and loves to be near people.  He is a very quiet little boy who is neutered.  Due to circumstances beyond their control, his family was no longer able to care for him.

Andrew required major dental extractions and he also has a heart murmur, but he's a sweetheart of a boy who is looking forward to a new home.

On June 12, 2015, he got his wish.  He will live with a couple in Harvey where he'll be a new brother for a Greyhound and two cats.  Congratulations, Andrew!

"Astrid" originally came to DunRoamin' on September 24, 2014 from the Plaster Rock area where she had been rescued by the SPCA.  She was emaciated, dehydrated, had fleas and worms and was missing hair on her back.  She was most likely born in February, 2012.  Astrid was well cared for and quickly put on weight.  On October 9, 2014, Astrid was adopted by a family in Centreville but was returned to DunRoamin' on June 2, 2015 as she was too much dog for them and perhaps needed more exercise and attention as she was becoming bored. She is a shepherd mixed breed.

Astrid has shown herself to be kind, quiet, attentive and playful.  Although a tiny bit timid at first (who wouldn't be?) she is very glad to spend time with people.  She loves other dogs (she spends time together with at least three) and cats and loves to get out for some exercise.  She knows some basic commands and appears eager to learn and to please.

UPDATE:  June 4, 2015 - Astrid has met her new best friend, Thatcher, and it's love at first sight!  They run, play and have a grand old time together.  They absolutely LOVE each other!  After romping with Thatcher and going for a walk, Astrid settled in for a nice long nap.  She is a very nice little girl who loves other dogs, cats and humans!  She is very well behaved and attentive to her new human friends.

On June 11, 2015, we learned that Astrid has a new home with a very nice lady who will give her a wonderful new life.  We'll miss you, Astrid.  Please send lots of photos and let us know how you're doing.  Thatcher will miss you, too!

"Just-In" came to DunRoamin' on May 2, 2015 from the Plaster Rock area where he had been experiencing a few problems.  Just-In, a Chihuahua, was born sometime in 2010.  He doesn't seem to like kids, other small dogs or cats.

Just-In had several medical concerns which were addressed:  he had mild to moderate tartar on his teeth, his right eye had cherry eye (a bulge in the third eyelid), and a lameness in his left hind leg.  All these conditions were treated.

Just-In was immediately put on the straight and narrow by his vet - a weight-loss program to help him lose his excess weight.  He was fostered by a vet tech who will ensure he follows the guidelines set out by his vet.

Just-In will require a calm home with no kids and his family must be dedicated to taking care of him and helping him get back to a proper weight and good health. "Today is the first day of the rest of your life!"

On May 28, 2015, Just-In received good news. He was adopted by two gentlemen from Woodstock where he'll now have the life he deserves.  Be a good boy, Just-In, and make sure you stay in touch!  We'll look forward to hearing from you!

"Bobbi" came to us on May 6, 2015 from Woodstock where she had been taken in by a person who could not care for her.  Bobbi was not spayed and had entropian, a condition in which the eyelids roll inward allowing the eyelashes to rub against the eyeball which causes friction and irritation and can severely damage the eye. This would be extremely painful for little Bobbi and if left untreated could cause corneal scarring, ulceration, rupture and eventual blindness.

Bobbi underwent surgery to correct this problem and was also spayed.  She was born about May 6, 2012 and is a Shar-Pei mixed-breed little girl.  Bobbi loves cats, dogs, kids and is familiar and comfortable with a crate.  She is a very quiet and easy dog who would love to have a new home to share with a family.

On May 16, 2015, Bobbi met a young gentleman from Wickham, NB who was enthralled with her.  She is now a permanent family member and we thank the family for giving her a loving home.  Take good care, Bobbi!

"Audrey" came to us on Mary 14, 2015 from the Woodstock area where she had been attacked by a large dog.  She sustained puncture wounds into her mandible, a lacerated tongue, a cracked jaw and her right nostril was bloody.  Her vet immediately set about to make her better.

Audrey is a sweet little girl.  She was born about March 1, and loves to follow her foster mother around. She is loving and attentive and grateful for a new start.

On May 16, 2015, Audrey learned that her foster family would officially be her permanent family.  She now lives in Oakland with two young adults and their parents.  Congratulations, Audrey!  Please send us photos as you grow!

"Fergie" came back to DunRoamin' on April 21, 2015.  She had originally come from the Perth-Andover area in August, 2010 with a broken femur and dislocated hip.  Fergie was adopted in September, 2010 and lived happily, but recent occurrences unrelated to her have made it difficult for her to stay in her home, so she came back to us to find a family.

Fergie is a beautiful little Lab mixed breed.  She is mildly overweight and has mild arthritis in her right hind knee, but her previous injury from 2010 has healed very well and she shows no lameness whatsoever.  Fergie likes other dogs, cats and kids and she's very good with her human friends.  She can follow commands such as sit and lay down, is good on a leash and wants very much to please.  Fergie was born sometime around December, 2009.

On May 9, 2015, Fergie met a lady who travelled all the way from Saint John just to make her a permanent family member.  Fergie now lives happily ever after with her humans and feline friends.  Please stay in touch, Fergie.  We'll miss you!

"Crush" came back to DunRoamin' on April 15, 2015.  He had originally been seized by the NB SPCA in the Perth-Andover area on December 12, 2014, along with his mother, Flo, and four siblings.  Crush was born about December 7, 2014.  He was adopted on February 7, 2015, to a family in Wilmot but was returned because he was too big a dog for their home.  Crush had a minor ear infection which was immediately treated.

Crush is a beautiful little boy who appears to be part Lab.  He is happy, loving and affectionate.  He loves to show his affection by licking your face and he constantly wags his tail.  He loves to be around people and likes other dogs as well.  He was initially not comfortable on a leash, but he learned that very quickly.  He's a really smart boy who would like to be part of a family of his very own.

On May 8, 2015, Crush met a very nice couple from Strathadam, NB and was invited to join their family where he will be the only pet.  Congratulations, Crush!  Send photos and write soon to tell us all about your new life!

"Akasha" came back to DunRoamin' on February 9, 2015 from Woodstock as her owner was unable to care for her any longer.  She is about five years old and is a very nice girl.  She is a bit overweight, but is very interested in getting lots of outdoor exercise.

Akasha is a rambunctious little girl.  She is very playful and loves other dogs.  She knows basic commands and loves to play in the snow.  She loves to have lots of exercise and is looking for a family with whom she'll get just that.

Akasha is very attentive and her beautiful eyes light up upon seeing a leash, because that means she's going outside to pounce in the snow!  She loves to jump in it and push her nose into it.  She's very eager to please and loves people.  She will be a wonderful companion for anyone interested in a happy, affectionate, energetic friend.  And check out those eyes - one brown and one blue!  She's gorgeous!

On April 29, 2015, Akasha met a gentleman from Fredericton who invited her to join his family.  Congratulations, Akasha!  Please send photos.  We will miss going with you for walks.

"Capone" came to DunRoamin' on February 5, 2015.  He was born about 2012 which makes him approximately two years old.  He is a brown pitbull mix.  Capone likes other dogs and doesn't even mind cats!

Capone was timid and preferred to have a home where he can learn trust and enjoy a family.  His friends at DunRoamin' and the Florenceville Vet Clinic gave him a good start to learning to trust and he was well on his way when he met a young man from Miramichi who thought he was the best dog ever!

On April 10, 2015, Capone was adopted by his friend.  He is making great strides in the trust department, now that he has realized that there are so many good people in his new life.  Congratulations, Capone.  Please keep sending updates and photos so we can watch your new life develop.  Thanks SOOOO much to your new family!!

"Murray" came to us on April 2, 2015 from the Woodstock area where he was a stray.  He had no place to go and no one to care for him.  He's just a little guy with a short coat and he didn't like to be outside in this cold weather very much and he definitely didn't like trying to survive on his own with no family to love him.  Murray is a Beagle who was born about April 1, 2011.

Murray is healthy, other than having some tartar on his teeth.  He was not neutered, but he is now.  He's a friendly, happy, pleasant little guy who wants nothing more than to please humans.  He's a real sweetheart.

On April 6, 2015 we learned that Murray will now live with a woman in Perth-Andover.  Congratulations, Murray.

"Nova" came to DunRoamin' on February 5, 2015.  She was born about February, 2013 and is a pitbull mix.  She was very timid and would like to go to a home where she can learn trust.  She would like owners who are experienced with dogs.  She enjoys the company of other dogs and will do best in a home with large-breed dogs.  With the help of her friends at DunRoamin' and the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, she started on a course that would help her get over her fears.

On April 3, 2015, Nova met a young lady from Halifax who had travelled all this way to meet her.  In addition, she brought her canine friend, Lexi so the two could meet. Nova was instantly taken with Lexi, who liked her also. We'd like to thank Katie for giving her such a great home.  Please send us lots of photos - we can't wait to hear about her new life!

"Trinity" came to DunRoamin' on February 5, 2015.  She is a pitbull mix who is about two years old.  She is initially timid, but has come a very long way in her foster home.  She is initially nervous in unfamiliar situations.  She is great with cats, is very affectionate and loves to give kisses.  She would like a patient family who is experienced with dogs and is willilng to work with her to bring out the beautiful spirit within her.

On March 25, 2015, Trinity was adopted by a family near Woodstock.  She's got it made, now!  Congratulations, Trinity.  Please write often!

"Lexi" originally came to DunRoamin' on February 27, 2014.  She was adopted to a family in Fredericton on April 1, 2014.  Lexi is a beautiful Rottie mix who was born about September 1, 2012.

Lexi had a great life with her humans, one cat, a Great Dane and a nine-year old Rottie.  Unfortunately, the nine-year old Rottie mix who had lived in the home her entire life became jealous and was not happy to have Lexi in the home.  Lexi's adopters tried all avenues, but it was necessary to re-home Lexi in the best interest of both her and her nine-year old Rottie housemate.

Lexi LOVES to be outside.  She loves to go hiking, jogging and for walks.  She enjoys playing with big dogs (not so fond of small breeds), loves to give kisses, loves treats, toys, cats and people (especially men).  She is a playful, happy and loving little girl who is not shy at all.  She loves to be with people and will eagerly follow you around and lay at your feet.  She occasionally likes to sleep on a couch, if she's allowed.  She likes cats as well and her tail starts wagging immediately when she spots one!

On March 20, 2015, Lexi was adopted by a couple in Fredericton where she'll get all the love, attention and exercise she desires from her humans and her new canine brother.  Congratulations, Lexi.  Please send us lots of photos!

"Flo" and her six puppies became wards of DunRoamin' on December 12, 2014 when they were turned over to us as SPCA seizures from the Perth-Andover area.  Flo, who was born about December 1, 2013, was emaciated (ie:  starving) and trying to feed her six puppies who were born about December 7, 2014.  She was in rough shape, but was an excellent mother who took very good care of her babies, Coral, Peach and Dorey (females) and Nemo, Marlin and Crush (males). Flo is a beautiful little girl who loves people and is very affectionate and grateful for the food, love and care she received at her foster home..

Flo's babies were all been adopted and she anxiously awaited her turn.  She is a real sweetheart - very quiet, gentle, kind and loving.  She likes people, dogs and cats as well.

And check out those eyes!  She's gorgeous!!

On February 20, 1015, Akasha was adopted by a family in Bath that has three kids who will be her new family.  Congratulations, Akasha!!  Send us photos of you and your family!

"Lexus" came to us on February 5, 2015.  She was born about the middle of August, 2013.  She was initially a bit timid, but came around very quickly.  She has a severe case of "Happy Tail!"  When she is happy, it goes non-stop!  She's a giant goof-ball and is a wonderful little girl.

On February 12, 2015 Lexus was adopted by a family in the Perth area with whom she'll have a wonderful life.  Congratulations, Lexus!  Send us some pictures!

"Dorey" came to us along with her mother and five siblings on December 12, 2014 when they were seized by the NB SPCA in the Perth-Andover area.  Their mom, Flo, was only about a year old and was emaciated (starving).  She was struggling to provide nutrition to her puppies that she did not even have for herself.  She was in rough shape, but is an excellent mother who took good care of her babies.

Dorey was born about December 7, 2014.  She had to be supplemented by syringe feedings when she first arrived, but her mom was soon able to feed them all again after getting lots of proper nutrition.  Dorey is the smallest of the litter but what she lacks in size she has in attitude!  She loved to pounce on her bigger brothers and sisters and bring them to tears.  She will tear around the floor bouncing and jumping on anything that moves.  She loves to be held and will jump in front of you so you will pick her up.  She is a bit of a whiner when she doesn't get her way, and she loves her stuffed dog!

On February 9, 2015, Dorey was adopted to a family in Havelock.  Congratulations!

"Coral" came to us along with her mother and five siblings on December 12, 2014 when they were seized by the NB SPCA in the Perth-Andover area.  Their mom, Flo (see above) was only about a year old and was emaciated (starving).  She was struggling to provide nutrition to her puppies that she did not even have for herself.  She was in rough shape, but is an excellent mother who took good care of her babies.

Coral is a beautful little girl who was born about December 7, 2014.  She had to be supplemented by syringe feedings when she first arrived, but her mom was soon able to feed them again after getting lots of proper nutrition.  Coral's foster family relates that she loves to be cuddled but is also a wild one when it comes to play!  She loves to take a running start and jump on the biggest brother she can find!  She is very vocal and barks at you to pay attention to her!

On February 7, 2015, Coral went to her new home in Saint John.

"Peach" came to us along with her mother and five siblings on December 12, 2014 when they were seized by the NB SPCA in the Perth-Andover area.  Their mom, Flo (see above) was only about a year old and was emaciated (starving).  She was struggling to provide nutrition to her puppies that she did not even have for herself.  She was in rough shape, but is an excellent mother who took good care of her babies.

Peach was born about December 7, 2014.  She had to be supplemented by syringe feedings when she first arrived, but her mom was soon able to feed them again after getting lots of proper nutrition.  Peach is very playful and cuddly.  She loves chewing on her toys and sneak-attacking her brother Crush when he's trying to sneak-attack someone else!

On February 7, 2015, Peach went to her new home in Rothesay.

"Marlin" came to us along with his mother and five siblings on December 12, 2014 when they were seized by the NB SPCA in the Perth-Andover area.  Their mom, Flo (see above) was only about a year old and was emaciated (starving).  She was struggling to provide nutrition to her puppies that she did not even have for herself.  She was in rough shape, but is an excellent mother who took good care of her babies.

Marlin was born about December 7, 2014.  He had to be supplemented by syringe feedings when he first arrived, but his mom was soon able to feed them again after getting lots of proper nutrition.

Marlin is the biggest of the litter.  He is also the most laid-back of all of them.  He likes to grab socks that are on your feet and tug.  He has a wide stance when he stands, as though he might be a big bruiser, but he's quite gentle - until his sister Dorey jumps him!!

On February 7, 2015, Marlin went to his new home in Beaver Dam, NB.

"Crush" came to us along with his mother and five siblings on December 12, 2014 when they were seized by the NB SPCA in the Perth-Andover area.  Their mom, Flo (see above) was only about a year old and was emaciated (starving).  She was struggling to provide nutrition to her puppies that she did not even have for herself.  She was in rough shape, but is an excellent mother who took good care of her babies.

Crush was born about December 7, 2014.  He had to be supplemented by syringe feedings when he first arrived, but his mom was soon able to feed them again after getting lots of proper nutrition.

Crush's hair makes him look like a puppy in a wrinkled suit.  He is usually the first one to nod off after a serious play session.  He likes to pull sneak attacks on his foster father's belt!  He is reserved when it comes to play fighting with the others.  He tends to sit back and watch, they attack when no one is looking!

On February 7, 2015, Crush went to his new home in Wilmot.

"Eren" came to us from Centreville on January 14, 2015.  He is a Retriever mix who was born about June 15, 2014 and lived with a senior citizen who was not comfortable with him as they were concerned that he might trip them.

Eren was fostered with our friends at Paw & Order in Keswick where he enjoyed the company of many other canine friends.  He is a sweet boy who loves other dogs and had a ball playing with all his new friends at Paw & Order.  Please check out their website by clicking on the link above or go to www.pawandorder.ca.

On January 17, 2015 we learned that Eren had a new family.  He lives in Douglas and will enjoy the company of wonderful people who think he is the best thing EVER.  Congratulations, Eren!

"Wynonna" and her siblings Judd, Hooper and Davis came to us from the Hartland area on December 1, 2014.  Wynonna was born about May 15, 2014 and appeared to be a Lab/Shepherd mix.  They were thin, very scared and had fleas.

Wynonna was spayed, vaccinated, treated for parasites and socialized so that she was no longer timid.  They all learned confidence and all doggie social skills while they awaited their permanent homes.

Although initially timid, Wynonna made great strides in trusting the humans who now cared for her. She was fortunate to have loving foster homes where she was given the love and security she needed.  On January 8, 2014, Wynonna went to stay with our friends at Paw and Order in Keswick (check them out here:  Paw & Order, they're amazing!) , and . . .

. . . on January 10, 2015, we learned that Wy had met some people who immediately knew she was to be part of their family.  She will be the only pet for this family in New Maryland.  Congratulations, Wynonna!  Home at last!  Send pictures!!

On January 10, 2015, Harlowe was adopted to a home in Greenfield.  Congratulations, Harlowe!!

"Nemo" and his five siblings and mom, Flo, became wards of DunRoamin' on December 12, 2014 when they were turned over to us as SPCA seizures from the Perth-Andover area.  Flo, who was born about December 1, 2013, was emaciated and trying to feed her six puppies who were born about December 7, 2014.  She was in rough shape, but was an excellent mother who took very good care of her babies.  Coral, Peach and Dorey are females and Nemo, Marlin and Crush are males.  Flo is a beautiful little girl who loves people and is very affectionate and grateful for the food, love and care she is receiving.

Flo's babies all did well, although the tiniest needed a little extra care.  All puppies were supplemented by syringe feedings when they first arrived and Flo received as much nutrition as she could take in and that's a lot for a little girl who had little nutrition for herself, let alone for six tiny babies too!

On January 9, 2015, we learned that a family from Jacksonville had fallen in love with little Nemo.  They have officially made him the newest member of his family.  He can't wait to be eight weeks old so he can join them.  Although he'll miss his canine and human family, he is anxiously awaiting the start of his new life!  Send lots of photos of you and your new family, Nemo!

"Bling," a Yorkie, was born about 2003.  He was one of five dogs retired by a breeder from the Centreville area who was surrendered to DunRoamin' on December 4, 2014.  All were unkempt, dirty, reeked of urine, had overgrown toenails, dirty/hairy/inflamed ears and major dental disease.  In addition, lice were found on them.

Bling had no teeth and had never been neutered.  He was in heart failure and had arthritic changes in his spine.  Due to his heart condition, we elected not to neuter him.

Bling is very tiny and loves people.  He loves to be picked up and snuggles quickly onto a lap at the first opportunity.  Bling was fostered with friends in the Woodstock area until . . .

. . . January 8, 2015, when he was adopted by a lady from Quispamsis.  The remainder of his life will be perfect.  He will be well loved, well cared for and will have the family of his dreams.  Congratulations, little one.  Please stay in touch.

"Bronx" came to us on September 29, 2014 from the Woodstock area.  A Shar Pei mix, he was about three years old.  Bronx had a case of demodectic mange which resulted in hair loss which was treated.  His family was moving away, couldn't take him with them and could not undertake his medical care.  Bronx was determined to have a small heart murmur as well.

On January 5, 2015 we learned that Bronx was adopted by a family near Florenceville that has kids and other pets for him to enjoy.
